Home of Silver Line Graphics and After Market Model Railroad
After I graduated high school, I went to college for graphic design in 2003-2004. At the time, finding employment in the graphic design field was not in the cards. In 2009 I joined the Army in hopes of finding a new career path and maybe even pay off those school loans. I was a Private First Class and as a truck driver I deployed to Afghanistan in 2011. While the deployment was successful, and everyone came back home safely, I survived an IED attack early on the year and endured rocket attacks that would leave a lasting impression on my life.
I left the military in 2014 and went almost directly right back into school with the intention to become an American Sign Language interpreter. I had studied it in high school, and over the decade since, experiences had drawn me into wanting to make that a career. However, my time in the military had longer lasting effects than I had realized, as PTSD and back issues would force me to reroute the entire course of my life.
It would take roughly a decade for me to get back on my feet again. Back problems would drag me down into a pretty dark period of my life, but after several years fighting to get my VA service-connected disability rating sorted out, I was able to begin the slow process of putting my life back together and eventually moving back home to Nevada. Once home again, I decided it was time to take another swing at graphic design and with the rest of my G.I. Bill benefits, I went back to school again in 2024, twenty years after my last go around. This time with a computer I could work on, I was able to build up a brand logo for myself and even build this website!
